The Rosanne Ullman
Better Writing Group

This is just one of many exercises we have available for participants to try out the grammar principles they've learned in the workshop. We do these right after teaching the pertinent issue and try to incorporate a little fun and humor.

               This Is Its!/Who's On First

Choose the correct word:

(It's/Its) a drag to have to do a grammar exercise. (Who's/Whose) idea was this, anyway?

(It's/Its) been years since I've had to do something this humiliating. I demand to know what

(it's/its) for and (who's/whose) going to be benefit. I mean, (it's/its) not that (it's/its) important

or anything. On second thought, maybe I'll improve as a human being if I learn English and

(it's/its) proper usage. Maybe I'll even gain my computer's friendship and (it's/its) respect.

I'll become someone (who's/whose) writing gets noticed, even complimented! So, my other

work will have to wait (it's/its) turn. I see now that (it's/its) an honor to attend a course where

people care about my personal growth. Yes, I guess (it's/its/it's not) true: The Better Writing

Group is the greatest!
